So Says The Drum
So Says the Drum is a project by Cologne-based Brazilian artists Bella Comsom and Bruna
Cabral. It is a tribute to the drum as an ancient technology and an encoded language. In Brazilian
culture, drumbeats transcend rhythm, becoming a grammar of silence, pulse, and resistance. The
project explores percussion beyond its purely musical function, approaching it as a medium of
communication and collective memory: one that embodies spiritual, healing, and political
dimensions. So Says the Drum is a live performance that combines ritual, improvisation, and
technological experimentation to create new forms of transmedial sound art.

Axel Pulgar THE SCHRANK
I am Axel Pulgar, a sound and media artist working with experimental electronic music, live performance, and digital image worlds. I approach the computer as an open artistic system, where human knowledge enters into dialogue with nature, emotion, and the body. A central element of my practice is THE SCHRANK, a self-built audiovisual synthesizer that functions as instrument, visual medium, and performative object. I program and construct the machine, but also enter it through my physical presence, creating a continuous feedback between body and system. My work explores machine poetry and sensorial constellations, where sound, image, noise, and movement emerge from primal forms hidden within digital structures.

Im Anschluss an das Konzert wird die Bühne zur offenen elektronischen Jamsession: Alle sind eingeladen, eigene modulare Synths, Effektgeräte oder DIY-Instrumente mitzubringen und sich an einer kollektiven Improvisation zu beteiligen. Auch DJ-Decks werden bereitstehen – bring your noise and plug in.

Auch Visual Artists sind bei der Jam eingeladen, spontan ihre Laptops an unseren Beamer anzuschließen.
