Trish Clowes: MY IRIS

Nun wird sie ihr intensives und spannendes Quartett MY IRIS erstmals im LOFT präsentieren. Clowes bietet ihren Bandmitgliedern eine einzigartige Plattform für den individuellen Ausdruck und das Zusammenspiel in der Gruppe. Sie liefert treibende Grooves und lang anhaltende melodische Linien, die nahtlos zwischen erdiger Unruhe und futuristischen Traumlandschaften changieren.

Trish ist derzeit Associate Artist in der Wigmore Hall (London), und ihre Musik ist bei dem US-amerikanischen Indie-Label Greenleaf Music und den britischen Labels Stoney Lane Records und Basho Records erschienen. Nachdem sie bereits für Ensembles wie das BBC Concert Orchestra und die London Sinfonietta geschrieben hat, wird Clowes im November 2024 als Gastsolistin mit der NDR Big Band auftreten, und ein neues Set ihrer eigenen Musik präsentieren.

MY IRIS ist international auf Tournee gegangen und hat Sendungen für BBC Radio 3 und Radio Bremen gemacht. Im Mai 2024 wurde die Band von dem amerikanischen Trompeter und Komponisten Dave Douglas (dem künstlerischer Leiter von Greenleaf Music) für eine Reihe von Auftritten im Pizza Express Jazz Club in London, beim Cheltenham Jazz Festival und beim Bray Jazz Festival in Irland unterstützt. Weitere bemerkenswerte Auftritte der Band sind die Wigmore Hall, der Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, das Rochester International Jazz Festival (USA), das Toronto International Jazz Festival, das Galway Jazz Festival und das Barbican (London Jazz Festival).

Dedicated to exploration and adroit writing, Clowes provides her bandmates with a unique platform for individual expression and group interplay, delivering driving grooves and lingering melodic lines, seamlessly morphing between earthy restlessness and futuristic dreamscapes.

Clowes is currently an Associate Artist at Wigmore Hall (London), and her recorded music can be found on US indie label Greenleaf Music, and UK labels Stoney Lane Records & Basho Records. Having been previously commissioned to write for ensembles such as the BBC Concert Orchestra and the London Sinfonietta, Clowes will appear as a guest soloist with the NDR Big Band (Germany) in November 2024, performing a new set of her own music.
