Ein neues aufregendes Trio in ungewöhnlicher Besetzung mit drei international bekannten Protagonist*innen der Improvisierten Musik.
Alle drei arbeiten seit vielen Jahren in den unterschiedlichsten Gruppen zusammen.

Ute Wassermann ist eine zeitgenössische Stimmkünstlerin. Sie hat Freie Kunst an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg studiert, sowie eine klassische Stimmausbildung absolviert. Ihre Arbeit verbindet Komposition, Improvisation, Sound- und Performance Art. Sie bringt ihre Stimme zum Oszillieren zwischen elektronischen, anorganischen menschlichen und animalischen Klangqualitäten – jenseits jeglicher menschlichen Normierung. Außerdem komponiert sie audiovisuelle Performances, indem sie ihre Stimme mit Vogelpfeifen, Resonanz- und Lautsprecherobjekten, Field Recordings und Mehrkanaldiffusion erweitert. Sie hat Kompositionsaufträge erhalten von: MaerzMusik, Casa de Lago UNAM / Mexico City, Universität Amsterdam, Poetica Sonora / Fonoteca Nacional Mexico City, Ryogoku Art Festival Japan, Transart Festival Bozen. Als Stimmsolistin im Bereich der experimentellen Musik ist sie regelmäßig auf internationalen Festivals in Europa, Australien, Mexiko, Brasilien, Asien und in den USA vertreten. Als Interpretin zeitgenössischer Musik hat sie zahlreiche für sie geschriebene Werke uraufgeführt.

John Butcher ist nach Evan Parker wohl der bedeutendste britische Saxophonist. In seinen zahlreichen Solis, aber auch im Duo und anderen Gruppen hat er das Saxophonspiel überzeugend revolutioniert und zu einem neuen Standard geführt. Man spricht heute schon von einer „John Butcher-Schule“. „Kaum jemand, der über John Butcher schreibt, versäumt es, Evan Parker als Bezugsgröße zu nennen, doch obwohl dessen Einfluss unbestreitbar ist, gibt es bei der Anwendung der ´extended technique´ wesentliche Unterschiede zwischen den beiden. Butchers Musik scheint immer in dem sie umgebenden Raum verankert zu sein: winzige Klangfragmente werden in den Äther gesandt, multiphonische Muster und ungewöhnliche Harmonien wechseln sich ab mit spannungsvollen Pausen, und aus den Momenten der Ruhe steigen Wolken zarter Obertöne auf und kehren in sie zurück wie fallender Regen. An exciting new trio with an unusual line-up featuring three internationally renowned protagonists of improvised music.
All three have been working together for many years in a wide variety of groups.

Ute Wassermann is a contemporary voice artist. She studied fine arts at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg and completed classical voice training. Her work combines composition, improvisation, sound and performance art. She makes her voice oscillate between electronic, inorganic human and animal sound qualities – beyond any human standardization. She also composes audiovisual performances by augmenting her voice with bird whistles, resonant and loudspeaker objects, field recordings and multi-channel diffusion. She has received commissions from: MaerzMusik, Casa de Lago UNAM / Mexico City, University of Amsterdam, Poetica Sonora / Fonoteca Nacional Mexico City, Ryogoku Art Festival Japan, Transart Festival Bolzano. As a vocal soloist in the field of experimental music, she regularly performs at international festivals in Europe, Australia, Mexico, Brazil, Asia and the USA. As an interpreter of contemporary music, she has premiered numerous works written for her.

In his numerous solos, but also in duos and other groups, he has convincingly revolutionized saxophone playing and led it to a new standard.
