Duo Frank Gratkowski & Paulo Álvares

Initiiert von Hans Martin Müller trat am 14. September 1991 im Rahmen der Aktion des Ehrenfelder Kunstvereins Tata West das Duo Frank Gratkowski und Paulo Álvares erstmals im LOFT auf, nachdem die Ausnahme Musiker im selben Jahr unabhängig voneinander den Silbernen und Goldenen Amadeus beim Wettbewerb Musik Kreativ gewonnen und dafür vorher ihre Bewerbungsaufnahmen im LOFT gemacht hatten.
Beide unterrichten seit langem Improvisation an der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln – nach vielen Jahren trafen sie vor etwas mehr als vier Jahren im LOFT erneut aufeinander, und schon da war klar: dieses Zusamenkunft muss schnellsten wiederholt werden.

Die Konzerte im LOFT beginnen in der Regel gegen 20 Uhr - das LOFT öffnet jeweils um 19.30 Uhr.
Ausnahmen - zB an Sonntagen - sind möglich.

Initiated by Hans Martin Müller, the duo Frank Gratkowski and Paulo Álvares performed at the LOFT for the first time on September 14, 1991 as part of an event organized by the Ehrenfeld art association Tata West, after the exceptional musicians had independently won the Silver and Golden Amadeus at the Musik Kreativ competition in the same year and had previously made their application recordings at the LOFT.
Both have been teaching improvisation at the Cologne University of Music and Dance for a long time – after many years, they met again at LOFT just over four years ago, and it was already clear then: this meeting must be repeated as soon as possible.
We can’t wait to see what they have to tell each other musically this time!


The concerts at the LOFT will generally start at around 8 pm CEST - the LOFT will open at 7.30 pm CEST.
Exceptiosn - eg on Sundays - are possible.
